New base for Swadlincote Post Office has been confirmed

THE Post Office has agreed to relocate Swadlincote Post Office to a nearby shop in the town.
It will be based at Bonkers, 43C High Street, DE11 8JE.
The existing postmaster wants to move the current Post Office at 8, Midland Road, into bigger town centre premises at the former Shoe Zone store.
Plans are now being finalised for the move and will be announced soon.
There will be three full-screened Post Office counters and a discount retail store.
The opening hours will be Monday to Saturday: 9am – 5.30pm; Sunday: 10am – 4pm.
The Post Office says this will provide 57 hours of Post Office service per week, which is an extra 10 hours and 30 minutes than currently, including Saturday afternoons and all-day Sunday.
A relocated Swadlincote Post Office will still have the same range of products and services.
